Oyster Loft

We have visited twice since opening and were wowed each time.  I loved the smoked old fashioned cocktail served in a cocktail glass with a large ball of ice, and a side decanter of bourbon infused with smoke that the server gently pours into your glass while the smoke is swirling into your cocktail.   The aroma is almost as intoxicating as the drink. We enjoyed the crabcakes packed with jumbo white crabmeat topped with garlic-basil aioli & citrus emulsified veggie slaw.  Their charbroiled oysters with butter, parsley, lemon and asiago cheese were so good that we ordered a second plate.

For dinner I ordered the Hokkaido Scallops, which are gently seared, wild-caught Japanese scallops. They are served on a bed of grilled corn succotash dotted with braised pork belly bits – and the butternut squash, potato gratin, sweet corn puree was a culinary delight. With hardly any room to spare, we saved the most incredible dish for last – dessert! I had the Caramel Basket – a wondrous creation of sea salt caramel ice cream, flambéed bananas and peaches, with a Grand Marnier whipped cream all nested in a basket made of caramel.  The flavors in that dessert are so amazing!  I wish I could eat it every day!

The wait-staff at the Oyster loft are very attentive and knowledgeable.  Our waiter was young but knew his wine menu! My friend wanted a certain style of Chardonnay and he knew exactly what she was looking for.  Kudos young man for really knowing your wines!  If you want to try something new and delicious, with menu items made from the freshest ingredients all while enjoying the best view Pismo has to offer, then I highly recommend the Oyster Loft.
