As a result we have an extensive database of service providers and we are proud to say we keep it local! We refer our sub-contractors from personal experience – we use them on our own homes many times before they are recommended to clients so that we can speak from first-hand knowledge of their work.

So in 2011 we installed travertine flooring throughout our 25 year old home replacing carpeting and/or older ceramic tile that dated back to when the home was built. We knew that we only wanted carpeting in the bedrooms and travertine went with our style of décor and home better than other hard-surface flooring choices.  We also needed it to be fairly durable as we have a grandson, two cats, a grand dog and the occasional party or family gathering. We cook and use the kitchen frequently as well. And the travertine was wearing well – with one exception. The grout and the natural stone “blemishes” were becoming discolored over time. We needed someone to clean and seal.

We happened to discover Stoneworks, a local company serving the Central Coast for over ten years now, they use a variety of processes and materials to restore and refinish stone and tile flooring, showers, counter tops, patios and other features. They can restore a surface to its original beauty or apply an entirely new look to an existing surface.

We are happy to recommend Stoneworks after they have done a fantastic job of grout cleaning and sealing on our travertine. They did such a great job that we recently referred them to a client whose home is being readied for market. In both cases they did a beautiful job, restoring the floors to their original installation splendor. Additionally they arrive on time, when they say they will, and they do the job for the estimated price – which is always fair.

As a bonus they occasionally run a discount coupon in the Val-Pak mailers so you can take them for your own “test drive” at a discount. Either way, even without the discount we don’t think you will be disappointed with their work.
