Farmers Markets: Offering Local Fare and Fun!

farmer_market_savor  Growing up on the Central Coast one of my favorite things to do was to go to the local farmers markets. Where else can you sample cuisine from multiple local restaurants, listen to a variety of local musicians, and get your grocery shopping done all in one place? Make it a family or friend’s event and go as a group, I promise you will have a great time.

Are you looking for fresh and locally grown produce? You are sure to be impressed with what the Central Coast Farmers Markets have to offer. This is where local farmers head to sell their goods. Heading into the spring here is what you can expect to find: Strawberries, Cauliflower, Onions, Broccoli, Beets, Avocados, Lettuce, Asparagus, Peas, Potato’s, a variety of citrus and much more. One of the perks of shopping for produce at a Farmers Market is that many of the farms are organic and you know their source. In addition to the locally grown crops you will also find locally made products like orange juice, apple cider, milk, jerky, honey and nuts to name a few. Though the farmers market was created to showcase local farmers and their crops, you can also find many other local businesses among the vendors. You will likely find homemade jewelry, candles, soaps, and crafts of all kinds. Buying local is a great way to help keep the local economy strong and support small business.

Have I piqued your interest? Great! Below you will find a list of local markets to check out.
