Enjoy the Strawberry Festival in Arroyo Grande

Memorial weekend is coming, and with it some sweet, juicy strawberries!

Arroyo Grande’s 36th annual strawberry festival is here again and the event schedule sounds as delicious and entertaining as ever!

If you have never been to this event that happens every year in the quaint little village of Arroyo Grande you are in for a treat. There are activities galore regardless of ages.

Start your Saturday with the strawberry pancake breakfast at served between 9:00am to 11:00am at the Olohan Alley Amusement Center. Attend the Strawberry Blonde Contest on Saturday at 1:30pm at the Rooster Creek Park Gazebo. Run or walk the Strawberry Stampede on Sunday at 8:00am. There fun to be had by everyone all weekend!

Are you a lover of music? You can enjoy music happening all day at several stages throughout the town filled with jazz, rock&roll, contemporary, ethnic, and folk musicians. Some of my favorites include “Amber & Smoke (folk ‘n soul duo) on Saturday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and “Cliff Notes” (blues and rock) on Sunday from 1:30pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday.

If you have young children, bring them and enjoy the Kiddie Carnival which includes a petting zoo with camel rides. One of my sons’ favorites is the Walking Water Bubble Pool. I’m also looking forward to the Pirate and Princess show which has 3 times on Sunday at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm, so your little one’s won’t have a chance to miss it!

If you love a good circus performance, “Derek Derek” Chinese Pole Acrobatics and “Reckless Robin” circus performers will be preforming all day Saturday.

There is no need to worry about parking, the city has 3 different parking locations to choose from and a shuttle that takes you to the downtown event.

Admission is free, so don’t miss but out on streets filled with arts and crafts vendors, local food, and children’s entertainment. For more information on the full list of activities, you can click on the link https://arroyograndevillage.org/strawberryfestival.
