Pismo Beach Pumpkins on the Pier!

Halloween is going to be tricky this year – literally. For parents of young children who still enjoy dressing up and trick-or-treating, the fact that this year’s spook-fest falls on a Monday is no laughing matter! While many of you will still trot your ghouls and goblins around on the actual holiday, it will be a bit of a rush to hit a few neighborhoods before bedtime. So here are a few fun suggestions to make it a Hallo-weekend.

One of our favorite family-fun events every year is Pismo Beach’s “Pumpkins on the Pier.” The highlight for both participants and spectators is the Costume Contest – a must for our family in which our son has participated for at least 7 years– and even been a lucky winner!. It is amazing people-watching as well – with some truly creative and bewitching costumes.

Pumpkins on the Pier

Pismo Beach Pier
Oct 29th 10am – 1pm

Our fantastic late-Summer weather makes an ideal backdrop for children young-and-old to come groove to the music, try their skills at some games, show their creativity at the crafts booths and of course bounce in the bounce houses – all capped off with the 10th Annual Trick or Treat Extravaganza from 12-2 where downtown Pismo businesses will hand out candy and treats to your trick-or-treaters.

Don’t miss out – the event starts at 10 a.m., and the first 500 children under 12 will receive a free pumpkin to decorate!! So run those Pirates and Princesses down to the Pier and kick-off your 2016 Hallo-weekend with some pre-Holiday tricks and treats!

The Pismo Beach Recreation department does a wonderful job with this event – proven because it has grown exponentially and now even includes an Adult Costume Contest as well – so don’t be shy moms and dads – break out those costume creativity skills and head on down to the Pier!
