Something for Everyone at Windmill Farms

Tucked away on the corner of Hwy 101 and Thompson Road at the most southern end of Arroyo Grande, is a sweet little local gem called Windmill Farms. This place has so much to offer, there is literally a little something for everyone.  With a beautiful gift shop inside, you can find locally made delicacies such as jams, honey, BBQ sauces and chocolates.  Artistically placed themed settings throughout the store feature a treasure trove of gifts including candles, soaps, tableware, natural lotions, oils and crockery.  Don’t miss the jewelry, my personal favorite reason for visiting Windmill Farms, with so much sparkles I get giddy!  I have to admit, I’ve purchased many sets of earrings and beautiful crystal necklaces on my numerous visits.

On another end of the store, Windmill Farms offers fresh local produce. Pick up some locally grown tomatoes, squash, onions, lettuce or whatever is in season at the moment. It’s like having a farmer’s market at your fingertips every day of the week.  They also sell fresh caught fish to complete any seafood meal you care to dream up.

The outside of this beautiful property has so much for you and your family to discover.  Windmill Farms offers up a plant nursery with beautifully colored imported pottery, wall art, garden art and fountains to adorn your backyard oasis.  Take your little ones and head up the hill to visit the little petting farm called the “Critter Corral” where visitors can hang out with chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, donkeys and miniature horses.

Sit down in the gardens and enjoy a delicious gourmet cup of coffee and a fresh pastry.  Take in the fresh air and all the nature that surrounds this little farm paradise. I recently learned that Windmill Farms is available as a wedding or event venue. Not surprising since it has such a serene setting with its historic barn surrounded by so much beauty!

Interested in taking a class? Windmill Farms has a “Succulent Pumpkin Centerpiece” making class on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 1:00pm, give them a call for details.

If you are looking to get away from all the big brand stores and really enjoy the moment of your shopping experience, stop on by Windmill Farms.  You won’t be disappointed.
