SLO COUNTY RESTAURANT MONTH

CALLING ALL FOODIES! Sound the alarm! There are just two weeks left to take advantage of SLO County’s “Restaurant Month!” This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a three-course fixed menu at many participating restaurants around the county for the low, low price of $30 per person! Plus, many restaurants also offer a wine pairing for an additional charge! This is a great way to “test” out a restaurant you have been wondering about but weren’t sure of the price or offerings – at a much more affordable rate.

Reservations are recommended as these restaurants fill up quickly during this fun month – as most are popular and have a following!

Just a few examples include:

Novo Restaurant and Lounge offering a first course that features items such as Singapore chicken satay or brussels sprouts with goat cheese, dried cherries, balsamic reduction and crispy prosciutto. Follow that with a second course of soup of the day, salmon bisque or beet salad. Third course offerings include Thai green chicken curry, or a Kurobuta pork chop complete with glazed market squash, carrot puree and the famous forbidden black rice. YUM!

Or venture in to the new Piadina at Hotel SLO where you will find a first course with choice of cauliflower soup or a warm mushroom tart, followed by a main course of roasted chicken, grilled salmon or vegetarian lasagna and followed by a dessert offering of espresso budino or buttermilk panna cotta.

Is your mouth watering yet? Well choices are not just limited to San Luis Obispo! Try Sea Venture Restaurant on the sand in downtown Pismo Beach offering a first course of oysters Rockefeller, or calamari (just two out of 7 choices), followed by a second course of prime sirloin or “Spicy Impossible Bolognese”. For the seafood lover they offer a medley of shrimp, clams, mussels, fish, sausage and rice in a tomato fume. And top off with a dessert course option of crème brulee or apple crostada.

And don’t forget North County – Fish Gaucho is preparing a “Bites, Tacos and Principals” three course meal that ranges from a creamy pasilla pepper and English pea soup topped with dungeness crab, followed by such mouth-watering offerings as Wagyu tri-tip tacos or vegan tacos with sautéed mushrooms, roast cherry tomatoes and then topped off with a main course ranging from grilled octopus over chorizo to braised short rib enchiladas.

It’s entirely possible that you stopped reading two paragraphs ago and made your reservations but if you’re still with us then RUN and make those reservations – make two or three while you are at it – before this glorious month of food ends and you are forced to wait until next January! Links below to the various lists – or just google your favorite San Luis Obispo County restaurant and see if they offer a “restaurant month menu!”
