Arroyo Grande Wins Volleyball State Championship

Saturday, May 18th, the Arroyo Grande Eagles Boys’ Volleyball team hosted the Grant High School Lancers from Los Angeles (GHS) for the State final game of the CIF SoCal Division IV Regional State Tournament. The Eagles came into the game seeded #1 in the 8-team bracket after a semi-round win against Foothills Christian from San Diego.

The match started with a close set, with AGHS taking a one-set lead at 25-20. In the second set, AGHS continued their momentum, leading by 10 at one point to win the second set 25-18. GHS stormed back against an overconfident AGHS to take their first set in a very close 27-25.

When the 4th set began, AGHS came out in a dominant fashion with great blocking and middle hitting to take a 15-point lead and going on to win the final set 25-11 for the CIF SoCal Regional State Championship.
