Arroyo Grande Eagles Boys Volleyball team visited San Luis Obispo High School (SLOHS) for the championship game of CIF Division II Central Section. The Eagles came into the game as underdogs after losing both league games to SLOHS earlier in the season. As the season came to a close AGHS was able to beat SLOHS 2 sets to 1 in a tournament in Fresno.
The match started off very one-sided, with SLOHS taking a commanding one-set lead 25-19. In the second set, SLOHS continued their powerful play, winning the second set 25-19. AGHS came out motivated and squeaked out the win in the 3rd set 25-23. AGHS took advantage of the momentum and beat SLOHS 25-18 to even the match at 2 sets each. The 5th set was electric, trading points all the way up to a tie at 13-13. AGHS came back from a timeout and scored the next 2 points for the win, making them the CIF Central Section Champions.
