Five Cities Pediatric Dental Group & Orthodontics

I have come to the conclusion that the decisions you have made in your life up until you have a child were nothing compared to the decisions you make when it comes to the health and care of that new little human being that now is totally reliant on you. Let me tell you, deciding when to put our son in Kindergarten took more discussion and research than my choice of colleges.

That being said, when it comes to your child’s health it pays to be diligent and to begin the process early. We asked our pediatrician in the first few months after our son was born when we should take him to his first dental visit (and that was before he had teeth).

At that time we were referred to someone that we did like when we started his visits but that we felt was extraordinarily pricey (and we felt like we were paying for the 2000 gallon fish tank in the lobby after two visits).

So, when our dentist left the area without notice we had to begin the research process again and with great luck we found Five Cities Pediatric Dental Group! Dr. Giancarlo and Dr. Irma — a husband and wife team — are both great at what they do and how they do it. Our son felt warmly welcomed by their staff and loves the chairside manner of these two dentists. Of course cool perks like flat panel TVs over every chair and sunglasses to wear when the overhead light is shining in his eyes are also a plus.

From the great location in Pismo close to the 101 makes it easy to get to in a rush — which I am always in — and the huge windows with a view of the train station are a fun bonus for the little ones. The cleaning area is a large open space — light and bright — with fun decor. The exam rooms are decorated in darling seasonal theme.

I guess the best way to sum up our experience at Five Cities Pediatric Dental Group is this: many people can and do go through school and acquire their degrees in dentistry but few can make their patients feel calm and at ease — particularly children. You will enjoy the open and caring atmosphere as much as your kiddo will — so stop worrying about which pediatric dentist to choose and give these guys a call! That decision will be over and you can move on to choosing his college.
