If you’re a bagel sandwich lover, you already know JonnyBoy’s Bagelry and Jewish Delicatessen. Located right in Atascadero’s newly upgraded downtown, JonnyBoy’s is the go to spot for delicious bagels and sandwiches.
Start off with a mouthwatering potato knish or latkes before the star of the show: the bagels! Handmade, boiled, and baked fresh daily, enjoy a variety of bagels with cream cheese or as a sandwich. Last time I was there, they had french onion bagels, which I had never seen before and just had to try. I got it as a lox bagel sandwich and it was perfection.
They also have a few sandwiches on rye bread, stuffed full with house-smoked pastrami and corned beef. If you’re in North County, or willing to make the drive over the grade, you absolutely have to try Jonnyboy’s.
Open every day except Mondays from 7am – 3pm (8am – 3pm on weekends), it’s the perfect breakfast or lunch. There isn’t a ton of seating inside, but there’s outside seating as well to enjoy the morning air.
