Having lived in Los Osos since 2000, I’ve seen many changes. One of my favorite additions is Nardonne’s La Famiglia Pizzeria. Located nearly a block from the back bay, Nardonne’s offers amazing food and great beer.
Nardonne’s offers seating indoors and on their patio. They also have a bonus kiddo-distraction — an arcade room for kids young and old! My husband and I enjoy sitting at the bar where the beer selection is always updating and evolving. “Our Bartender, Rachel, and I choose the beers” says owner Ben Dougherty. “We swap out beers multiple times a day. We have 13 craft beers on tap — one beer of each variety, and always 5-6 IPA’s.”

One thing that remains consistent is the food. My personal favorite is the calzone. The outer crust is crispy while the interior is deliciously soft, with an abundance of cheese and slightly spicy red sauce –making this dish a fantastic reason to spoil yourself! I always add a side salad – the ingredients are purchased from the farmer’s market and make a great compliment to any meal. Other choices include sandwiches, pizza, and small bites.
The Dougherty Family opened Nardonne’s in 1976 and decided to relocate themselves and their business five years ago. Thankfully, they decided to come back to Los Osos. Ben Dougherty states,”We returned to Baywood Park for many reasons. I was born and raised here and have 3 kids. I knew I would always move back at some point, it was just a matter of time. As I got older, I realized what my priorities were. I wanted a beautiful, clean, safe place for my wife and kids and to be closer to the rest of my family.”
Nardonne’s is still family run. Ben is the Bartender and runs the front of the house. His mom and wife are the Pizza Chefs, dad is the Prep Cook, and Ben’s son and daughter work multiple positions in the restaurant. Stop in and try it – tell them Maria from the Pismo Beach Homes Team sent you!
