Calling all SLO county cinephiles! The 9th annual Cambria Film Festival is February 4-8!
Founded in 2018, the Cambria Film Festival features independent films from all over the world. This year, they’ll even have their first feature film from Iran! Whatever genre you like, there’s something for you; from horror to romcoms to documentaries to family-friendly shorts.

The schedule of events is divided by day, or you can filter by genre, venue, and local filmmakers! Tickets are available for each individual movie, or you can get a pass for any six movies you like. Or, if you want to see everything, they also offer all-access passes! Some events, like the Family Film Block–a medley of family-friendly shorts–and the Lunchtime Film Talks, are free! Just make sure to register and save your seat.
Several of the ticketed events are collections of short films, meaning that you can see a curated collection of movies for the price of one! They’re grouped by genre, so find one that you vibe with and check it out. One of these is the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase, featuring short films created by students and first time filmmakers. There are eight student films in this two-hour block, offering the perfect variety. Other Shorts Programs include After Life, Anger Management, Doc Block, Complexities of Love, Ancestral Bonds, and many more. For those that like scary movies, there’s a Late Nite Cinema Shorts Program honoring everything horror!

Check out the Cambria Film Festival website for the full schedule and to get your tickets!
