Charming Small Towns on the Central Coast

Three of our local towns have been named by US News as some of the most charming small towns in California!

First is Cambria, which US News calls “the epitome of a sleepy coastal town.” Cambria is best known for Hearst Castle, although the stunning beaches and adorable downtown could easily stand on their own. Make sure to visit a few of the several art galleries that line Main Street to see a collection of showstopping local art!

Next is our very own Pismo Beach. US News recommends the Monarch Butterfly Groves, where you can see thousands of Monarch butterflies from November through February. During the summer, the eucalyptus trees are still a beautiful little oasis even without the butterflies. Plus, the beach is only a short walk away! Or, head over to downtown Pismo for some incredible food–anywhere is a good choice!–and a wide variety of shopping.

Last but certainly not least is Morro Bay! The iconic Morro Rock–part of an ancient volcano–provides a stunning view from the beach. It’s the perfect place to relax on the sand and enjoy the ocean breeze. There are also several museums, such as the Morro Bay National Estuary Program, where you can learn about local wildlife.
