House of the Rising Buns
🥪Located just a couple blocks from the Pismo Pier, House of the Rising Buns is the place to go for delicious sourdough. The owner Bobby makes all of his bread daily, and it’s some of the best sourdough I’ve ever had. He sells it by the loaf, perfect for serving with soup or just toasted with lots of butter. A personal favorite is the Roast Beast, piled high with chipotle mayo, monterey jack cheese, tomato, pickled onions, roast beef, and leafy greens–although I order mine with no greens! The menu also features an award-winning Grilled Cheese, stuffed with four kinds of cheese and grilled to perfection.

Dune Side Deli
🥪If you’re looking for a build-your-own sandwich, Dune Side Deli offers a huge variety of bread, cheese, deli meats, and toppings. Can’t decide? They also have signature sandwiches to choose from, both hot and cold. Their pasta and potato salads are delicious too, and they have a wide selection of chips and sodas to round off your beach-day picnic.

Giuseppe’s Italian American Club
🥪For a classic deli sandwich, check out Giuseppe’s Italian American Club! With someone who doesn’t really want a sandwich? You’re in the right place, because they also have pizza by the slice and a variety of green salads and pasta salads. Plus, they have a full bar and are easily walkable from the Pismo Pier, so it’s the perfect place to stop for a little break from the sun.

Sando’s Deli
🥪Just a few blocks away from Dinosaur Caves Park, Sando’s is a Shell Beach fan favorite. With unique options like Dutch crunch, pineapple, jerk chicken, and homemade chimichurri on the menu, there are endless combinations to choose from.
