While I may not have the names of everyone that has helped me on our thankfully few visits, I can say that this entire hospital and it’s staff has grown and evolved with our community. I truly appreciate that we have this facility and it’s caring staff so close at hand.
After returning to the Central Coast as an adult, I was first re-acquainted with Arroyo Grande Community Hospital — a Catholic Healthcare West Hospital — when my husband came down with a severe stomach illness nine years ago. His case was handled swiftly, efficiently and with a caring staff, despite the late hour. I truly appreciated their attention and the fact that they allowed us to stay with him and kept us fully-informed.
Since then I have had a handful of reasons to visit Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and I have to say that each time it has been as pleasant as a hospital experience can be … From blood tests for my pregnancy to most recently visiting with my mom after my son gave us both sinusitis and subsequent ear and eye infections… we found no matter what time of day, or what day of the week, there was virtually no wait and friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff every step along the way.
I must also say that when my mom had to visit because of a heart condition that we had yet to determine, the staff understood that this was scary for her and her family, and we were continually updated on her condition and reassured by caring triage, nurses, doctors and lab technicians. As I mentioned before, the experience was as pleasant as this kind of experience can be, and I thank the entire staff at AGCH for their skill, efficiency, attentiveness and empathy.
I am glad that I have this hospital to recommend and refer to my clients relocating to the Central Coast and I hope we, as a community, continue to support it in it’s future endeavors.
