Wine Waves and Beyond | Apr 29 – May 1st

WineWaves copyIn it’s 7th year this four-day long event has quickly become an establishment here on the Central Coast marking the beginning of our Summer – even though it is technically still Spring. Built around a Surf Classic contest, this event has raised over $130,000 for local Central Coast non-profit organizations – and this year will be no exception with proceeds benefitting the GleanSLO program, part of the SLO County Food Bank Coalition.

WineWavesAlready underway, the Surf Movie Night has already kicked off the 2016 event, but don’t worry there are PLENTY of things left to participate in – Friday, April 29 enjoy a night of live music on the lawn of the Cliff’s Resort hanging over the blue Pacific featuring over 40 local wineries, breweries and restaurants. This evening also includes a jam-packed silent auction … all during late-afternoon/evening so you are in the perfect place to sip a glass of wine at sunset and kick off the weekend.

Saturday, April 30 features a Winemakers Dinner with chefs from four local restaurants collaborating on a delicious menu paired with unique wines delivered as an educational experience.  This year’s event features Terry Culton, owner and winemaker at Culton Wine who will be sharing his wine against stars of the French wine industry. This yummy event includes six courses and great wine and is usually a sell-out event with only 40 seats!

Sunday, May 1 has a festival of events – the surf contest, a live concert on the beach with Proxima Parada and The Kicks AND a Vintage VW display with Buses, Bugs and more. Lounge at the Beer Garden in front of the SeaVenture Resort featuring local favorite Firestone Walker Brews like the wildly popular 805.  And don’t forget the BBQ and local food trucks!

Spend the first weekend in May at the Beach enjoying all of the fantastic things the Central Coast has to offer … the weather report says 72 and sunny!
