Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! I wanted an activity to do with my boys during our week of rain here on the Central Coast and making something for their grandparents seemed like killing two birds with one stone. I found a fun craft that was quick, affordable, and can easily be shipped to our family and friends. You too can make these adorable Valentine’s Day, decorative, kitchen towels!
For this craft, you’ll need:
Flour Sack Towels
Acrylic Paint
Paint brushes (or just fingers for the little ones)
Painter’s tape
Stamps/stencils (optional)
These flour sack towels can be found in most stores that have kitchen supplies and they typically cost around $1 a piece. Acrylic paint works best on these towels, but you’ll only want to paint a small portion of the towel because it will make that portion hard and unusable for drying purposes. We used painter’s tape to mark off that small portion and I just let the kids have fun with it.
I love this craft because it’s so versatile. It can be used for any season and you can use so many tools, colors, styles, etc., making it unique as well as making sweet memories! I think the next one we’ll do will be for Grandparent’s Day by adding all of the grandkid’s handprints on one.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
