I am happy to be DuShawn Robinson because…
I was born & raised in South Central Los Angeles and after graduating
Washington High School, I relocated to Sonoma County to study business
administration & marketing at Sonoma State University.
As a college freshman working multiple jobs, I received both my
parents’s blessings to have my 2 younger brothers move in with me.
Through the courts, I officially became their legal guardian and
enrolled them into Rancho Cotati High School in Rohnert Park. (side
note: my college friends used to tease that I was the only college
freshman with kids attending high school).
After college I opened & operated a residential/commercial cleaning
company. As a 22 year old mentor-less entrepreneur in a fairly new
county, I endured (and overcame) every obstacle while really learning
what it means to stay present & available for my family & clients.
As a local business owner, volunteering in the community led to an
opportunity to work for the Santa Rosa School District as a Behavioral
Technician. There, I learned how to develop & implement individual
educational plans for students grade 1-12. While developing educational
& self empowerment tools for the students’ success, I met a realtor who
was volunteering at one of our school events. He encouraged me to enroll
at Santa Rosa Junior College and study real estate because it had
provided him the financial stability and lifestyle to be of real
service to the community he was in love with. Glad I took his advice!
Gratitude enters the chat here because during my 14 years working in the
school system, I met the love of my life (and my future wife) who was
also working in classrooms, contributing herself to helping students
grow.
During our relationship, we vacationed in San Luis Obispo County over a
dozen times and we decided that once we got married and had kids, we’d
raise them in this paradise of a county. We are now fortunate to have 2
healthy & energetic little toddlers and they already share our love for
the countless parks, favorite beach spots, wonderful community members,
endless vistas and delicious places to eat all over SLO county!
Real estate is an amazing way to be of service and to be a
