Quality Coffee at Quintessa

Drive down Highway One in Oceano and you will find the sweetest little coffee shop around.  It is my local fav!  A big change from the branded chain coffee shops, filled with advertisements, and step into Quintessa. This lovely roasting house has a warm inviting environment where you are greeted by a friendly barista, ready to help you with your quality selection of a rich Cup-a- Joe.

Quintessa is a Latin word with a simple meaning – “Essence”.  The owners, who originally hail from Seattle, have studied the essence of what goes into making quality coffee.  After living in several locations around the United States, the owners of Quintessa ultimately settled here in San Luis Obispo County to be closer to family. Now running their own family run business, they are creating a haven for Oceano locals by focusing on small batch coffee with a promise to “never roasting more than 25 pounds at a time”.

With a fresh pastry case on the counter, you can choose from an array of treats to go along with your coffee.  The shop has it’s own roasting area where you can sometimes catch the owners in action, roasting the delicate beans and releasing those intoxicating aromas. Sit down at a table or one of the comfortable armchairs and sip away.  If you need to catch up on some work, Quintessa offer free wifi as well. If you’re an outdoor person, you can sit in up front and greet friends as they arrive. The vibes here are friendly and there is already quite the following.

If swag is what you want, Quintessa offers their unique logo on t-shirts, cups, tumblers and several other items.  I love visiting this small batch roasting house and I highly recommend you give it a try!
